David Cole is a Jewish-American filmmaker who gained attention (including death threats) for his documentary in which the official Auschwitz story is challenged.

For reasons that make no sense, this is one of the most dangerous topics there is. Asking questions is a criminal offence in multiple countries. If something is self-evident or true, then why should it be protected via state force?

It’s very difficult to get to the truth and ironically, in the Information Age, which we would have thought meant channels to the truth is in fact obfuscating the truth.

David Irving

Conversation summary

David’s film questions the presence and use of gas chambers for mass extermination in Auschwitz, claiming that the structure was originally an air-raid shelter as per his interview with the camp’s archive director.

He also disputes the claim that Nazis made soap from dead Jews’ bodies.

David argues that the Soviets exaggerated the number of deaths at Auschwitz and other camps.

Censorship reflects a society’s lack of confidence in itself. It is a hallmark of an authoritarian regime.
