Hypocrisy is the act of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behaviour does not conform.
It is a form of deception, as the hypocrite is pretending to be something he is not.
Hypocrisy can be seen as a type of moral weakness, because it suggests that the hypocrite is not willing to live up to his own standards.
Many people claim to distrust everything the mainstream media while simultaneously trusting some things in the mainstream media.
Why is this?
Could it be a consequence of decades of indoctrination by the same mainstream media? Is it a result of being propagandised? Could it be mass formation? Is it groupthink?
Perhaps it’s because such people want to hold onto certain ideas and not let go for fear of the unknown or unanswered. A kind of self-preservation.
