Do you remember the guy who won the first Big Brother?

Ferdinand Rabie won the first South African Big Brother back in 2001. What's he been up to? Where is he now? I caught up with him.

It was the year of 9/11.

A quarter of a century ago.

It's crazy how time flies.

Ferdinand Rabie was close to winning South Africa's first Big Brother, back when I was young and into that sort of thing.

Nonetheless, I wanted to know what happened to Ferdi and what he's been up to, 25 years later.

As it happens, he still runs a tour company and it still looks like a lot of fun, taking people around South Africa.

📺 Live stream

Ferdi chatted to me about his experience on Big Brother, what is was like not hearing about 9/11 until much later, and everything in between.

Apologies for the lack of polish. My live streams aren't as professional as my podcast, simply because they're live—but I'm working on improving them.

Because this is part of my weekly South Africa-focused live stream, it is not yet available as an audio episode on podcast apps.

That said, you should still subscribe to my podcast, available on most podcast apps. And if you're an Apple user, consider upgrading to the paid subscription to remove the ads.

We’re constantly bombarded with fake news, propaganda, agendas, and outright lies. It’s an information war. What is true? I don’t know either—but I’m trying to find out.
