Dmitry Orlov is a Russian-American engineer and a writer.
He was born in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), but emigrated to the United States for a while and then returned to Russia.
Dmitry writes on subjects related to economic, ecological and political decline in the West and argues that America is imploding.
He is also critical of NATO.

Interestingly, former KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov made the same point in his infamous American interview (with G Edward Griffin) back in 1984 (ironically).
Why is the West imploding?
I’m not sure but I have a few ideas.
- The West has been losing its economic dominance for decades. This is due to a number of factors, including globalisation, the rise of China (and BRICS), and people having fewer kids.
- Increasing divisions along political lines is another. This is probably because of social media, the decline of trust in traditional institutions, and the increasing salience of cultural Marxism.
- The loss of traditional values including the rise of secularism, the decline of Christianity, and the increasing influence of multiculturalism.
In terms of Russia, did Vladimir Putin wake up on the wrong side of the bed and suddenly decide to bomb Ukraine?
Or did he have valid reasons?
Yes, he had valid reasons and the reasons are a combination of geopolitics, cultural history, neo-Nazis, NATO and buffering against the infiltration of Western moral decay.
