His first book, Republican Gomorrah, was published in 2009 and is a critical examination of the Republican Party and its ties to the financial industry. Max’s second book, Goliath, was published in 2013 and is a critical examination of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In 2015, he published The 51 Day War, a book about the 2014 Gaza War and is critical of the Israeli government’s actions during the war.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex and long-standing issue with deep historical, political, and religious roots. Gaza, a Palestinian territory, has been a focal point of the conflict. Israel’s control over Gaza’s borders, airspace, and territorial waters, as well as its military presence in the area, has led to concerns about the exercise of power and control over the Palestinian population.
Israel has conducted military operations in Gaza have resulted in significant civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. Additionally, Israel has imposed a blockade on Gaza since 2007, restricting the flow of goods and people in and out of the territory, which has had severe humanitarian consequences.
The construction of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, including in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, has been a contentious issue because they are, as I understand it, illegal under international law and hinder the possibility of a viable Palestinian state.
Blumenthal’s most recent book, The Management of Savagery, was published in 2019 and looks at the US government’s use of drone strikes.
