James Manning has been on my podcast before.
In short, he is a pastor at the ATLAH church in Harlem, widely known for his provocative preaching, particularly surrounding what he believes to be the failures of black Americans.
His views are echoed by previous guests Adam Cole and Gabrielle Clark.
In the following conversation, James touched on
- his background;
- becoming a Christian;
- observing the historical and cultural handicaps of black people;
- mediocrity versus excellence;
- perpetual victimhood; and
- how to fix the generational inadequacies of black people.
The pastor is a gentleman and an inspiration to me, as I highlighted in our discussion, because his message extends beyond his pulpit and into the congregation of my own worldview. Listening to him makes me realise that, in order to be a winner, I must take responsibility of my thoughts and behaviour, rather than blaming others.
