James Walton heads up the Prepper Broadcasting Network, and has been on my podcast in which he chatted about the fundamental principles of preparedness (or, as the cool kids say, prepping), which can be summarised as
I love the idea of prepping for a number of reasons, primarily because, as James has expressed a few times, it reduces anxiety.
Prepping is healthy
I am an advocate of a low-carbohydrate lifestyle (which means eating lots of fat and protein), but, thankfully, long-term food storage is essential for catastrophic scenarios rather than daily living.
James and I bantered about
- eating and fighting kangaroos;
- getting out of busy cities;
- food items that last long;
- canned meats; and
- starting a fire.
I intend to have many more such conversations with James, since preparedness is a brilliant example of the white pill.
