What happened to the music industry?

Right Said Fred are one of the few bands that resisted Covid tyranny.
JermBy Jerm14 Thu 2022Updated:22 Fri 2022

Right Said Fred, who have been on my podcast, have quickly become my favourite British pop act, not just because of their catchy hooks, but because of their stance against Covid tyranny.

Something that has bothered me since 2020 is the absence of rock ‘n roll irreverence and the stick-it-to-the-man rock star attitude. It’s as if, like a timid dog, the music industry put its tail between its legs and retreated to the naughty corner.

Skillet’s John Cooper made a great comment about Rage Against The Machine, labelling them as “government rock”. Green Day and Offspring, with roots in the punk rock era (yes, really), have become establishment hacks, the latter firing their drummer following his refusal to get the jab.

Eric Clapton, thankfully, red-pilled himself after the first shot, realising that vaccinating against a propaganda campaign requires an injection of sanity instead of a harmful mRNA gene therapy.

Enter Fred and Richard Fairbrass, who are too sexy for the vax.

Not only are they great musicians who still love the art, but they are also a voice of reason, standing their ground and maintaining their principles.

They chatted to me about

  • Boris Johnson and the state of British politics;
  • the music industry becoming corporate;
  • cancel culture and their upcoming book; and
  • their new podcast.
