Do you trust the science?

You shouldn’t.

Nobody should.

Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts.

Richard Feynman

Science isn’t a belief system. It isn’t a cult. It isn’t an ideology. It isn’t a noble cause.

Don’t trust the science

Why on Earth would you trust (the) science?

Science is the study of the natural world through observation and experimentation to understand how it works.

That’s it. Nothing more than that.

We’ve been overwhelmed, for years, with relentless demands to ‘follow the science’, ‘trust the science’, ‘trust the experts’ or some variation of what is all essentially the same thing: mass obedience.

Science is a religion with Bill Gates as the god

Telling people to ‘trust the experts’ is an appeal to authority and, more often than not, an appeal to an illegitimate authority.

In science, the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurs

Francis Galton

Such as a government, corporation, industrial complex and so on.

‘Trusting the science’ serves as a smart method to keep people quiet and compliant. After all, put all your faith in a genius in a white coat, working in a bright lab to solve the world’s problems, right?

But humans cause Earth’s temperature to change?

It’s about power and money

Anyone involved in academia knows that science has very little to do with charitable, selfless, heartfelt humanitarian causes.

Science is, at its core, about funding.

Without funding, there is no salary.

Without a salary, there is no employment.

When interests surrounding power and money coincide, it creates opportunities for corruption and propaganda. Scientists need funding and companies need ‘evidence’ that their products work.

Pfizer, for example, will not fund research that goes against its business model.

Climate science is no different.

It’s based on computer models, fear, narratives, and special interest groups who make a lot of money from it all.

I’ll simplify this: humans are not more powerful than the sun.

Humans will never be more powerful than the sun. It’s impossible.

The sun controls Earth’s temperature.

Yes, secondary factors exist (like clouds and volcanoes and so on), but the sun is the primary factor.

The great tragedy of science – the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an ugly fact.

Thomas Huxley
