Arno Carstens is a renowned South African singer-songwriter and artist who has significantly influenced the rock music scene in his home country.
Background
Born in 1972, his journey as a musician began in the 1990s when he served as the lead vocalist for the alternative rock band, Springbok Nude Girls which, as it happens, is one of the best band names ever.
I remember listening to the Nude Girls back in the ’90s. It was a great time.
They released multiple albums, making them one of the most popular rock acts in South Africa. Here is one of my favourite tunes of theirs, Blue Eyes.
Arno started his solo career in 2005, mixing rock, pop and alternative music with a South African twist.
His debut album, Another Universe, quickly went platinum. It’s a really good song. Take a listen.
