Brittni De La Mora was a top-tier porn star for seven years, landing over 250 film roles and gaining international fame. Despite her ‘success’, she was plagued by emptiness and despair, relying on drugs and alcohol to cope, even making unsuccessful suicide attempts.

Brittni is, of course, her real name. Out of respect, I deliberately avoided researching anything based on her stage name.

Damascus moment

After reading a verse in the Bible while on a flight to shoot a film, she became a Christian, abruptly exited the porn industry, and started a new life.

Right there and then.

Brittni is now a mother of two and married to Richard, an evangelist and author.

Speaking out against porn

They founded Love Always Ministries, which includes online courses, podcasts, workshops, and books, with the intended purpose of

helping people walk in their calling by discovering God’s love and leading a victorious life through purity.

In her conversation with me, Brittni chatted about her childhood and experience in the porn industry, the journey she had, and the mentality that kept her involved.

She also touched on the darker aspects such as pimps and suicide.

Brittni discussed her ‘no list’ and elaborated a bit on the challenges when getting out of the industry.

But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Apparently, the global porn industry is a massive market, with an estimated worth of around $97 billion. A significant chunk of this revenue, roughly $10 to $12 billion, is generated in the United States.

When it comes to online viewership, XVideos stands out, receiving a staggering 2.9 billion monthly views. Interestingly, the origins of online porn can be traced back to 1994 when Sex.com was registered as one of the first porn websites.

In the digital realm, porn takes up a substantial chunk, accounting for approximately 4% of the entire internet.

Around 28,000 individuals are actively watching porn at any given moment. Furthermore, an astonishing 35% of all internet downloads are related to pornography.

In 2018, the collective viewership reached an astounding 5,824,699,200 hours of porn.

Back to purity

Watching pornography has detrimental effects on both mental and emotional well-being, leading to unrealistic expectations about sex and relationships, fostering addictive behaviour, and straining interpersonal connections.

Porn is a bad idea.

The best part of Brittni’s story is the happy ending.

Here’s my conversation with her.

The problem with pornography is not that it shows too much of the person, but that it shows far too little.
